For a comfortable and eco-friendly stay while you are in Leh, Ladakh, the LEDeG Hostel is probably your best bet. The Hostel is a 12-room solar-passive affair that can accommodate up to 28 people.

About the LEDeG Hostel

Location - Away from the commerce of the main bazaar, the hostel has an enviable location situated under the Shanti Stupa (spectacular view of the town), and 3 minutes’ walk from the Tisseru Gompa. At the same time, within 5-minutes’ walk to the numerous eateries/restaurants of the bustling Changspa area.

Home-cooked meals - If you prefer to stay in and have a simple home-cooked meal over conversation with the staff, that can also be arranged at a nominal additional cost.

Comfortable rooms – all the rooms are solar-passively heated by either trombe walls or direct gain.

Electricity - We produce our own electricity on-campus with a 1.2kW PV plant; so unlike the rest of the town, you will not have trouble charging your phone or your camera, or even having a read before you nod off to sleep.

Hot water bucket baths and eco-friendly traditional toilets – Traditional Ladakhi toilets and solar-passively heated bathrooms with sun-heated running water available in the summers.

Bookings

Beds can be booked at Rs.200 per day. Another additional Rs.150 per day will be charged for meals.
